Vision is not a statement. It is attentiveness to the future. For leaders, staying future-focused is a constant, deliberate and essential activity. Vision considers not only what is but reflects upon what could be. This attention to possibilities – and the attending task of giving them value and meaning – is central. a) In what specific ways can I incorporate into my daily routine opportunities to ‘see the future’?
b) How much of my time is spent on preparing myself – and my organization – for the future? How must that increase?
c) What strategic question can focus the efforts of everyone in my organization on the future?
d) What is my vision, my dream, that will take all my life but so great that I will not be able to finish it?
